My counseling and assessment experience include diagnosing, educating, and assisting clients with cognitive functioning deficits, learning differences, and trauma. As a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, I help people adjust to changes in cognitive functioning due to a traumatic brain injury (TBI), cerebrovascular accident/infarct, or degenerative disease.  My goal of therapy is to offer a supportive environment for clients to learn how to cope with life changes, difficulty thinking (cognitive deficits), and emotional instability, by providing functional education, coping skills, and emotional self-management skills. I am well trained in ADD/ADHD assessment and strategies, as well as, personality profiles, individual aptitude, and behavior checklists, which assist in gaining more insight for the client and their physician.

I have over 13 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my Masters of Science in School Psychology from Long Island University and completed my internship in New York, administering diagnostic psychological, developmental, and educational assessments, as well as quantitative measurement through inventories and scales. I have over eight-years of experience working with a diverse population in behavioral health with positions in evaluation and referral, discharge planning, and as a research assistant which involved extensive patient interaction. After moving to Texas, I worked for a nationally known neuropsychologist as a psychometrist and cognitive rehabilitation coordinator, administering diagnostic neuropsychological, psychological, developmental, and educational assessments, as well as managing a cognitive rehabilitation program.  During this time, I became a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and acquired a Texas Professional Counseling license.
